Transporting a coffin to a funeral can be done in more ways than most people may realise, and can be one of the easiest things to make the funeral individual and memorable. Most people settle for the hearse supplied by their funeral director, but there are a multitude of companies throughout the UK offering a wide choice of specialist vehicles for this purpose. Alternatively just do it yourself - there is no law saying you must use a professional hearse company, many people have used their own car, a friends van, bus, lorry or even tractor and trailer. There are even a couple of burial grounds around the country next to a canal and even a light railway, so a boat or train is not out of the question either.
